DAY 0: LSJ/GANNETT INTERNSHIP
I can’t wait for tomorrow! I haven’t anxiously looked forward to something in a long time.
Sure, I have looked forward to the end of a days run, or enjoying cookie dough ice cream when it’s 97 degrees outside, but nothing quite like the anticipation I feel now.
I start my Advertising Internship at the LSJ/Gannett tomorrow, and I could not be more excited, which is why I plan to write all about it in my blog. Since writing is my primary source of expressing myself, and my experiences, this blog will serve as an open journal for others who are searching for internship advice ranging from what not to do on your first day, to what to wear on a daily basis.
Although this isn’t my first internship, it’s my first experience working as a professional in the advertising industry. Similar to how ads help identify brands and a society, I know that my experience at the LSJ will not only contribute to my education, but as an individual yearning to learn more about the American culture and the impacts that advertising can have on it.
So, with this feeling of anticipation, I aim to start my internship position with a notebook at hand, dressed in professional attire, with a positive attitude, and willing to learn from anyone I work with to expanding my knowledge as an advertising student.
Are you prepared to learn? I am.
